Frequently asked questions
Straight answers on how we work, what we need from you and what you get.
What does Tactical Tensors do?
We are an AI consulting and engineering firm. We help businesses find the right AI opportunities, then design, build and run the systems: multimodal agents, generative AI applications, recommendation engines, conversational assistants, computer vision and predictive models.
Do you work with startups or large enterprises?
Both. We work with startups building their first AI product and with established companies modernizing platforms and operations.
Where are you based, and do you work internationally?
Our team is based in India and the United States, and we work with clients across markets and time zones.
Can you build a custom AI model?
Yes. Depending on the problem, we compare custom models, fine-tuning, foundation models, open-weight models and classical machine learning, then recommend the approach that best balances quality, data, cost and operations.
Can your agents work with our existing software?
Yes, wherever your systems offer suitable APIs and permissions. Agents connect to your applications, databases and knowledge sources with controls on every action they can take.
Can you work alongside our engineering team?
Yes. We can provide specialist expertise, lead a single AI workstream or deliver an end-to-end build together with your product and engineering teams.
Can you take an existing prototype into production?
Yes. We handle the engineering that turns a prototype into an operational system: data integration, deployment, monitoring, access controls, performance tuning and ongoing evaluation.
Do we need a large dataset?
Not always. Many systems run on foundation models plus your existing documents. Others need labeled data or historical records. We assess this in discovery.
How do you handle privacy and security?
We agree data-access rules, model and vendor boundaries, permissions and retention up front. Regulated or sensitive projects get controls matched to their environment and obligations, including private or self-hosted models where needed.
Who owns the code and models you build?
You do. Code, models and documentation are handed over at the end of the engagement.
How long does a typical project take?
A discovery or proof of concept usually takes 2 to 6 weeks. A production build usually takes 2 to 4 months, depending on scope and integrations.
How do you measure success?
Against metrics agreed at the start, such as task completion, processing time, recommendation relevance, forecast accuracy, manual effort saved, latency, operating cost and adoption.
What if we don't know which AI technology we need?
That is where most clients start. We assess the problem, identify suitable approaches, test feasibility and recommend a practical plan.
